Join the Advisory Committees of the European Forum Alpbach

The European Forum Alpbach and the Forum Alpbach Network are looking for young academics and professionals under the age of 35 to join the Advisory Committees of the European Forum Alpbach between 2019 and 2021. The Committees advise the European Forum Alpbach on programming the symposia and as such can play a very important role in setting the focus and tone of the Forum. The Committees consist of researchers and practitioners with expertise and experience in diverse fields, all identifying with our mission to work towards a unified, democratic and sustainable Europe. These Committees also need young, innovative and if necessary uncomfortable and unconventional points of view that especially you can provide.

We are aware that excellence in a field comes with time and don’t expect you to match the experience of older members of the Committees. However, we expect you to push for younger and more diverse discussions, point out biases when you see them and help us maintain a high level of excellence and relevance with our programmes. As a young expert, you are also the link between the Advisory Committees and the Forum Alpbach Alumni Network.

Do you consider yourself one of those voices? Do you consider yourself to be knowledgeable yet unconventional, experienced yet open-minded and unafraid of tough discussions?

If so, please send us a cover letter (max. one page) answering the following questions as well as your CV (both in PDF format):

  • What motivates you to contribute to the European Forum Alpbach? Which Advisory Committee would you like to support with your ideas and why?
  • Which obstacles did you overcome to get to the place where you are right now?
  • What questions should be but are not being asked at the European Forum Alpbach?

Please submit your application by April 21, 2019, to: board@alpbach.network

Yours,

FAN-Board / Forum Alpbach Network
Philippe Narval / General Secretary / EFA
